The new Google Photos - Photo Backup Approach

I am a Mac user and I have problems with photo backup concerns since the digital age.  With this Google Photos, now, I have a pretty good solution with minimum risks.

  • Install Google Photos for my iPhone to backup everything.
  • Install Google Photos Backup app for OSX are as follows:

Choose backup sources
  • Cameras & Storage Cards (OFF)
  • iPhoto Library  (OFF if you use Photos already.)
  • Desktop  (OFF)
  • Pictures (ON. This will upload my photos from Photos, too.)
This allows me to backup all photos from my phone constantly.

Once a while, I will be importing photos from my iPhone to Apple Photos; I may also import photos from my camera to Apple Photos.  The Google Photos Backup will upload all these Photos as well.

This allows me to have a backup on the cloud and still keep the original quality photos/videos in Photos.  I also have the Time Machine set up to backup Photos library file.

The downside is that photos from iPhone may be duplicated in the Google Photos as they got uploaded twice: one from iPhone and one from Google Photos Backup.

This should be sufficient for now.  Any comments or suggestions?

The Bose Soundbar 700 Won't Connect to App

Bose has one of the best speaker sound. I learnt about Bose more than 25 years ago and still a fan.  I bought Soundbar 700 in 2018.  It took me a while to set it up but it has been giving me troubles once a while.  Recently, I was not able to connect Soundbar 700 with my phone.  Done the factory reset on the soundbar, it didn't work. I spent hours reseting everything multiple times and finally I found this article,  https://www.bose.com.au/en_au/support/articles/HC1380/productCodes/bose_soundbar_700/article.html .  Tweaking them all and finally got it to work again. I think the most important setting is to TURN WPS OFF on the router!  Hope it helps.

Restricted enrolment schools (Melbourne Eastern Region)

Due to facility limitations, Eastern Metropolitan Region has a number of schools with enrolments restricted in various ways. These schools are not required to enrol students outside their neighbourhood area unless they have spare places. They are referred to as having an enrolment ceiling and/or a designated neighbourhood area (formerly known as zones).  Any additional students must be enrolled strictly according to Department of Education and Early Childhood Development priority criteria. SCHOOLS WITH AN APPROVED ENROLMENT UNDERSTANDING Designated Neighbourhood Area In some instances the Regional Director may need to restrict new enrolments at a particular school and will therefore specifically designate the neighbourhood area (formerly referred to as a zone).  Children who live outside the Designated Neighbourhood Area cannot be guaranteed a place at that school even if it is their closest neighbourhood school.  The the following schools have an apporved ...
